Creator & Producer - Probably True podcast

September 2016 - Present

Probably True is the long-running, multi-award-winning LGBTQ+ storytelling project centring on queer life and even queer-er sex.

Episodes alternate between 10-minute monologues written and produced by me, and 20-30 minute episodes with guests.

These guest episodes are a fun challenge: for the recording, I offer my guests a range of suggested topics we could cover but ultimately leave the decision on the story they want to tell up to them. I do my best to remove my voice from the guest’s story altogether - it should be their story, in their voice, with minimum interruption from me. After the recording, the next challenge for me is editorialising the 1 hour recording into approx 15 minutes of story, and roughly the same amount of follow-up and questions.

Host - Pride Vibes Radio

Summer 2023

I hosted a prime-time Saturday afternoon show on Pride Vibes Radio, Ireland’s only dedicated LGBTQ+ radio station.

I recorded my links from my home setup directly into Zetta To Go.

I balanced upbeat, energetic chat, accurate information on Pride events across Ireland, and more serious reminders to donate to the station’s charity partner.

Corporate Podcasts & Instructional Video Voiceovers

Various projects

As a freelance audio producer, I have produced, hosted, and otherwise consulted on various corporate podcasts, instructional videos and other internal media.

These projects varied from simple voiceover work for instructional videos that were completed in a matter of hours, to long-running CEO ‘fireside chat’ projects, requiring ongoing planning, producing, editing and mastering before being published to internal Content Management Systems.

Show Producer & Co-Host - East London Radio

2015 - 2017

I produced and co-hosted a weekly, hour-long live show on East London Radio. We were consistently the station’s most popular show, building our audience from nothing.

Alongside hosting, my duties included all aspects of the show’s production, including:

  • Research and host briefings for every episode

  • Organising regular team meetings; new segment ideation, future episode planning, etc.

  • Maintaining sound boards and managing music playlists

Producer - Scottee & Friends

Summer 2020 & 2021

Created by the artist Scottee, Would Like To Meet is a project aimed at getting the residents of a single street in Cambridge to talk to one another.

Recorded over the course of a weekend in August 2020, this piece had an impressive number of puzzles to solve, due to Covid restrictions meaning we could only talk to people from a distance of 2 metres, on their doorstep.

As a result, I had to adapt to various audio issues including limitations of equipment, budget and time; traffic from the busy street; a nearby airstrip (!); and several other factors.

Despite all of these obstacles, this final piece is as engaging, fun and delightful as the residents of Ross St themselves.

Writer & Producer - QPN Pod

2019 - 2022

I organised regular community-building meetups and workshop events for budding LGBTQ+ podcasters. When Covid-19 made physical meetups impossible, I pivoted the events online.

As an accompaniment to the new online-only events, I created QPN Pod: tips and insights into podcast production, each delivered in episodes lasting one minute or less.
